Quick Update!

Hi Bloggers,
I have finally started work at Harrah's Casino. Everyone at Harrahs has been very welcoming. The transition has been easy and difficult at times. The hardest thing is my accent. And according to Americans I can't say key or late. But on the plus side I have gotten a lot of compliments about my accent.
I have had to cram in a lot of information in the last two weeks but it is all coming together. I feel this job is going to test my problem solving skills and help me to manage a crisis.
When I come back home I really want to go into crisis communication or sport public relations.

My next plan is to go to Vegas for my birthday.

So until next time,

San Diego

Hi Bloggers,

I have been in San Diego for over a week now and I am lovin it. San Diego is like a smaller version of Melbourne. The food quality is alot better than LA too. And I am situated in the heart of the City.

In the last week I have been going out to the local clubs and noticed that the crowds are very mixed in terms of ages. For example there is a number of cougars and older gentlemen attempting to pray on the young. That is so creepy. But they are harmless.

I went to Mexico, just over the boarder and did alot of drinking. I have a shot of moonshine which contain 97% alcohol. It didn't taste bad but it burns down your throat and is obviously strong.

As seen below I had fun with Tequila on my trip, I also went on a mechanical bull ride.

Post number 2

Hi Bloggers,

A week has gone by and a lot has happened.

Since being in LA I have walked along Hollywood Blvd, visited Santa Monica and took a tour of celebrity houses.

The experience has been great and I can't wait to do more. I have met heaps of people including two Australians, Dean and Nat. They are a nice young couple who are visiting America and then heading to Canada. Everyone at Banana Bungalow are great but there are a lot of couples around which makes it difficult to meet single guys. I have notice that American guys are really forward too but I am hitting them away with a massive stick. Watch out guys!

On Friday I went for a job interview on Friday and I am happy to report that I got the job. It is a front of office position at a Casino/Hotel Resort. I start next week.

Therefore I am going to be based in San Diego but will travel to other places in America throughout my trip.

My check list includes:

  • New York City
  • Miami
  • San Francisco
  • Colorado
Gotta go, but stay in touch for my next post.

Day 1 and 2

LA is a crazy and unexpected place to be, you never know what will happen the next day.

On Day 1 I made my first travel mate, her name is Sasheena. She is best described as a punk rock chick and she is a blast to be with.

On monday night I went to a Aussie LA Melb Cup party but it wasn't that good. The crowd was older and I think my parents would have enjoyed it more. So disappointed!

On Day 2 Sasheena and I went to the Madame Tussauds; this has wax figures of celebrities (in case you didn't know. The Celebrities looked so real.

Now I am about to head off and hit the night clubs of LA!

Does anyone have any suggestions?
